Pronto Pilates currently have 5 x studios operating throughout Queensland, and 9 x studios that are ‘opening soon’. Their business concept has been successful as it is tailored to community needs, providing affordable and flexible class times. Figure 9: On-screen class instruction While tenants of the remaining tenancies are not yet known, the layout and function of the tenancies would be similar. Operating Hours and Compatibility with Surrounding Uses The proposed Pilates studio will operate between 5:15 am and 10:45 pm, Monday to Sunday - 7 days per week, including public holidays. These hours are consistent with the expectations for low-impact recreational activities within a commercial and office tenancy setting and aligns with the community demand. The concept of Pronto Pilates is to provide a sustainable and enjoyable form of exercise that welcomes a community where Pilates is affordable and within reach for all. This is reflected within their class schedule as there is a variety of classes for all levels and structured timings to allow for early morning and evening fitness sessions and captures patrons who prefer to train before or after work or early or late mornings. Class schedules are also deliberately set to coincide with non-peak business hours, predominantly in the early morning (5:15 am–8:00 am) and late afternoon to evening (4:30 pm– 8:00 pm). This will minimise any potential conflict with commercial, retail or office operations within the tenancy building and wider Noosa Civic Centre. Overall, there will be 23 classes per day with 100% attendance expected in the early morning and later afternoon to evening classes. Given the nature of Pilates being a low intensity, and non-intrusive form of exercise the activity is not expected to generate excessive noise or vibration that could be seen with the use of heavy machinery or loud music. Furthermore, classes are conducted in an indoor controlled environment, ensuring that the amenity of nearby tenancies and land uses are not impacted by the proposed use. Importantly only 12 x machines can be occupied at any one time. Had the tenancy been occupied for a small medical use it could be expected that the use would have 4 employees, including a receptionist, and 10 patients visiting each hour. The turnover over 12 visitors for a Pilates class is much lower than if the commercial or medical use would have occurred.
