            RESPONSE
On-road cycle lanes are proposed to be constructed on both sides of the internal link road located
to the east of the proposed development. Please refer to the engineering sections which illustrate
            same.
A pedestrian footpath is not proposed on the eastern side of the internal link road as part of the
proposed development as, in the absence of development on these future development sites,
there will be limited demand for pedestrian movement along that alignment. A pathway can be
provided along the eastern side of internal link road pursuant to a condition of development
approval for the future development on those sites.
A pedestrian pathway has not been provided adjacent to the western edge of the internal link
road in order to maximise the extent of vegetation being retained to screen the at-grade car
parking areas and the built elements of the proposed development from the internal and external
road networks. High quality pedestrian paths are provided from the existing retail centre to the
proposed development. One path comprises an internal route across the pedestrian link and
through the internal pedestrian mall and out to the internal link road. A second path extends
around the external perimeter of the proposed development from the Civic Precinct to the internal
link road. Both paths are predominantly undercover, are legible, will be signposted and will be
appropriately illuminated. Both paths are also intuitive and logical and follow the anticipated
footfall of pedestrians using the centre. The paths are illustrated in Appendix D – Traffic and
            Transport Response to this report.
