MCU14/0106 & OPW15/0001 Information Request Response Report (absent appendices)
Noosa Civic Expansion
28 Eenie Creek Road, Noosaville and parts of the road reserves of Hofmann Drive and Walter Hay Drive
Figure 7 has not been updated as no additional species of conservation significance were
observed within the study area.
The study area comprises the disturbance footprint and the balance of Lot 3 on SP246584 and
was traversed and surveyed by an ‘educated walk’, which targeted threatened species identified
from desktop assessment based on known habitat preferences.
7.4 Presence of Conservation Significant Species
“There are species of conservation significance known on or nearby the subject site.
Information Required:
60 Provide a Significant Species Management Plan, which addresses all known and
potentially occurring significant species. The Significant Species Management Plan
should provide:
(a) detailed figures showing all significant habitat/s,
(b) known significant species locations,
(c) mitigation and management responses, and
(d) monitoring requirements.”
RESPONSE
Please refer, in part, to the response to Item 59 above.
There are no confirmed significant species within the disturbance footprint, other than the Koala
and Wallum Froglet for which mitigation measures were proposed as part of the ecological study
that accompanied the development application.
The Applicant is prepared to accept the imposition of a condition of approval which requires the
preparation of a Conservation Significant Species Management Plan.
7.5 Presence of Conservation Significant Species
“The proposed layout retains habitats which are known to provide habitat for species of
conservation significance.
Information Required:
61 Provide a Habitat Management Plan for species of conservation significance which
details management and mitigation actions of potential impacts to retained habitats
for construction and operational phases of the development.”
RESPONSE
A number of management plans have been prepared and provided as part of this development
application which address many issues that would be considered in a Habitat Management Plan.
Those management plans include a Construction Environment Management Plan, Bushfire
Management Plan and Covenant Interface Management Plan.
The Applicant is prepared to accept the imposition of a condition of approval which requires the
preparation of a Habitat Management Plan.
7.6 Legibility of Figures
“Figure 2 contains symbols which do not appear in the legend and one symbol in the legend is
duplicated. The current figure results in difficulties in appraising the spatial locations of key
elements. Of particular concern is the difficulty in interpreting where koala habitat tree density
survey points are located.
