HIGHLIGHTS

Tourism Noosa continually develops partnerships with major stakeholders to
strengthen support for, and the voice of, our industry. We secured a two-
year funding agreement with Noosa Council and worked closely with Council
throughout the year. We welcomed Cr Amelia Lorentson as Council’s observer
on the Tourism Noosa Board, and thanked Cr
Frank Wilkie for his previous time and input in
that position.
We strengthened our partnerships with
regional neighbours Visit Sunshine Coast
(VSC), Destination Gympie Region and Fraser
Coast Tourism; with VSC and Sunshine Coast
Airport through the Aviation Partnership; and
with industry bodies including Tourism and
Events Queensland, Tourism Australia and the
Queensland Tourism Industry Council.

Planning began for a new strategic plan to lead Noosa’s tourism
industry through COVID-19 recovery and into the next three years.
We undertook our most comprehensive
consultation to date, seeking feedback and
opinions from local industry and member groups,
community organisations, business associations
and stakeholders in Noosa and the wider
tourism industry. Results from the engagement
paper were shared with members and other
participants, and the final strategy will be
released later in 2020.
