Town Planning Report - Car wash & Food and drink outlet
“Adamson Town Planning, specialising in providing higher order town planning advice”
The proposed car wash has been designed to be as sustainable possible by providing for
significant stormwater harvesting and installation of energy efficient systems, equipment and
processes, with the aid of a substantial solar power and a water recycling system. Further, the
design of the car wash has also been carefully considered to provide a building form and
design and makes use of materials that complement the character of the Cooroy locality.
Subject Site
The subject site is located in Elm Street between Diamond Lane and Opal Street (refer Figure

is devoid of vegetation.
The site adjoins the existing bowls club to the east, the existing Wessels Petroleum Service
Station to the north and the BP Service Station to the south. To the west on the opposite side
of Elm Street is the Cooroy Railway Station on the North Coast Railway Line.
The land on the eastern side of the bowls club is comprised of residential multiple dwellings
and detached dwellings and to the east of the BP Service Station. Some commercial
development exists in Opal Street towards Elm Street. There is a mixture of older commercial
