GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 January 2015
College Lease Proposal
The College’s lease proposal requests a 20 year lease to enable the College to appropriately
manage the cost of providing the following development proposal improvements over a 5 to 10
year period and maintaining the ovals and infrastructure:
1. Remedial drainage works
2. Possible expansion to take two full sized rugby/soccer fields
3. Top dressing
5. Fencing and beautification along Walter Hay Drive
6. Creation of athletics facilities – includes a 400m grass running track, long jump/ triple
jump pit with artificial run up and other facilities to cater for discus/shotput.
The College has an arrangement with the Noosa Eagles Soccer Club over Lot 909 and Lot 100
and the College has indicated that they wish this alliance to continue. The College are also willing
to establish relationships with other sporting groups to utilise the facilities as much as possible.
Under Section 236 (1) (b) (ii) of the Local Government Regulation 2012, Council is not required
to tender for the leasing of the property as the purpose of renewal of the lease is to a community
organisation. The requirements of this exception are that a relevant Council resolution is first
obtained.
