GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 January 2015
The Annual Operating Costs Grants will coincide with a round of Community Project Grants (see
below). Applications during this round will be for the following financial year costs. This will allow
organisations to plan for the forthcoming financial year.
Prospective applicants must speak with designated Council staff prior to applying for Annual
Operating Costs funding to ensure their proposal meets Council's priorities and guidelines.
Eligible community organisations may receive part funding for costs associated with:
a) Unitywater fixed access charges (water and sewerage).
b) Insurance costs including building insurance and public liability insurance.
c) Office expenses related to rental of office space, electricity, and fixed telephone costs.
There will be an advertised funding cap setting the limit on grants for each of the above items.
This upper limit may vary from year to year and will be detailed in the Grant Guidelines for
Annual Operating Costs. The maximum available funding will be greater for those organisations
offering a service to the whole of the Shire as compared to those organisations that offer a local
service to a part of the Shire.
Advertising for these grant rounds will acknowledge an overall funding cap per application.
The following items are not eligible for Annual Operating Costs funding:
- Marketing and advertising
- Prizes
- Travel expenses
- Mobile phone costs
- Catering and alcohol
- Consumables such as stationery, printing, fuel, vehicle/plant/equipment repairs, etc
