STOCKWELL 399 Montague Rd URGENT West End QLD 4101 PO Box 3144 South Brisbane QLD 4101 12 September 2019 T 07 3004 6888 Ms Kim Rawlings F 07 3004 6899 Acting CEO Noosa Council www.stockwell.com.au PO Box 141 ABN 50 010 095 360 TEWANTIN QLD 4565 Dear Kim, Essential Urgent Bushfire Management Clearing Noosa Civic - Lot 3 on SP246584 | write further to our conversation with Council officers yesterday afternoon, and our subsequent phone conversation, in the wake of extreme weather conditions and resultant bushfire events. As you are aware, we have recently settled our purchase of Noosa Civic from QIC. We have reviewed the previous Bushfire Management Review in June 2018 and subsequent annual review conducted in May 2019. These reports were undertaken by Les Hawkes for QIC. The June 2018 Bushfire Management Review, in Section 5, contains recommendations for management to the north and south boundary to create a fire break. We have reviewed these recommendations with Les, and in light of the current environment, his advice is to immediately clear a 20m fire break in both these locations. In addition, Les has recommended that the clearing for the extension to Hofmann Drive and the north south private road is undertaken now, to manage the load of the vegetation on the site (which has not suffered a bushfire event since 2003) and maintain a safe environment for the existing Noosa Civic and further development to the west. We note correspondence of July 2019 from QFES provides that landowners are entitled to construct fire breaks on their property up to 20m in width, and we also recognise the need to engage with Noosa Council prior to conducting these works. Given the emergency situation, it is our intention to complete these works urgently, and formalise any operational works approval retrospectively.

We have engaged a local Sunshine Coast contractor who will commence work on Friday 12 September on to clear and dispose of resultant material to these areas. The priority of works will focus on the clearing to the southern and northern boundaries, followed by the works to Hofmann Drive and the private road. Should Council have any concerns with this approach, we request that you contact us urgently, so that we can resolve. ithfully, Your; Z Car schene Madsen Stockwell NC Pty Ltd CC: Kerri Coyle, Manager - Planning Attachments: 1.
