 FLOOD CONSIDERATIONS
As noted above, review of the Noosa Shire Council Intramaps flood layers including the Flood Hazards Overlay has
identified that the site is located outside of the flood inundation zone, however the proposed access along
Carpenters Road is subject to inundation as shown below in Figure 3.1 – Flood hazard Overlay Map (Noosa Shire
Council Intramaps, 2022).

Flood protection measures are required to ensure the site can be safely accessed in all storm events up to and
including 1% AEP storm event (as discussed below, refer Section 3.2). This will involve an upgrade of Carpenters
Road to achieve the required level of flood immunity. Modelling of the existing and proposed developed access
road has been undertaken to ensure that the proposed upgrade will not result in negative impacts to the upstream
or downstream properties along the drainage feature.
