Dear Ms Schramm,
Re: Further Advice
At: 62 Gateway Drive Noosaville Qld 4566
With reference to the abovementioned development application and the subsequent
further advice from Council, we have prepared a response to the engineering matters
raised as follows:
Location of Driveway Taper to Lintel
1. Provide additional detail demonstrating that the proposed driveway
crossover is located generally in accordance with Noosa Council’s
Standard Drawing RS-049. The additional detail must be prepared by a
suitably qualified person (RPEQ – Registered Professional Engineer of
Queensland).
The proposed location of the heavy-duty crossover generally complies with Standard
Drawings RS-051 and 63, except for the Type A wing width of 1m instead of 1.5m.
Standard Drawing RS-049 details an exclusion zone of 1m from the lintel to the
driveway’s wing.

This is generally in accordance with the relevant Standard Drawings. We recommend
that this be conditioned in the Operational Works permit to detail the modified Type
A wing for the heavy-duty crossover.
Existing Stormwater Chamber
2. Provide additional detail demonstrating how the proposed development
will ensure the existing stormwater chamber will not be traversed, unless
reconstructed with a Class D manhole lid. The detail must be prepared by a
suitably qualified person (RPEQ – Registered Professional Engineer of
Queensland) and include, but not be limited to:
a. If proceeding with the reconstruction of the chamber:
i. reconstruct the existing gully chamber as a manhole with a
Class D lid;
ii. construct a branch line connection to the newly constructed
gully pit sufficiently clear from the driveway entrance; and

iii. demonstrate the existing branch connections across the
existing stormwater line have sufficient depth to maintain
existing freeboard in the system.
b. If forgoing the reconstruction of the chamber:
i. Demonstrate a suitable driveway crossover location that
complies with relevant standards and will not adversely
affect Council’s existing stormwater infrastructure.
We recommend that these be conditioned in the Operational Works permit to detail
the reconstruction of the chamber using a Class D manhole.
We believe that the above satisfactorily addresses the engineering matters raised
however, should additional information be required, please contact our office directly.
Yours faithfully,
RECOR Pty Ltd
