Lake MacDonald Drive Cooroy - WMP
Workplace Management Plan
Lake MacDonald Drive, Cooroy
▪ Before using a premise as a place of work.
▪ Before developing or revising a SWMS.
Hazard inspections are regularly undertaken on this project. Once a hazard has been identified and a person
considers that the problem cannot be easily rectified a risk assessment is to be undertaken and documented
on Shadforth Risk Assessment Form IMS-05-46. The risk assessment must be signed off by the appropriate
supervisor and workers undertaking the task and stored in the PCP.
The Projects Risk Register is updated as part of this process acknowledging that a hazard has been identified
and a risk assessment undertaken.
Conducting Risk Assessments
When conducting a risk assessment consideration needs to be given to the likelihood and consequence of the
injury, illness, or incident occurring, and the available information on the hazard including records of incidents,
illness, disease, and applicable legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards. Past incidents and
trends are available on Shadforth data system. Specifically, this information should be sought from the
compliance department or the WHSE Advisor appointed to the project. The findings of the risk assessment must
be discussed with the Supervisor in charge of the work area and the “procedure following risk assessment”
(Annotated on the risk assessment form) followed. Any subsequent risk assessment must be dealt with in the
same manner. It is the responsibility of the Compliance Manager and projects WHSE Advisor’s to ensure hazard
inspections and risk assessments are being conducted. Hazard inspections and risk assessments are
monitored, recorded, and reviewed by the compliance department as part of their audit processes.
When conducting a risk assessment, consideration is given to the likelihood of an event occurring, and the
consequence of an event happening. The likelihood of an event occurring is broken up into the 5 classifications
below
▪ Almost certain – Is expected to occur at most times
▪ Likely – Will probably occur at most times
▪ Possible – Might occur at some time
▪ Unlikely – Could occur at some time
▪ Rare – May occur in rare circumstances
The consequence of an event happening is broken up as outlined in Figure 1 – Risk Matrix. Once these 2
elements have been assessed a risk rating can be given and control measures established.
