Lake MacDonald Drive Cooroy - WMP
Workplace Management Plan
Lake MacDonald Drive, Cooroy
The ESCP is designed in compliance with,
▪ Best Practice Erosion and Sediment Control (IECA, 2008)
▪ State Planning Policy (DILGP, 2017)
▪ Appendix B – draft (IECA, 2018)
▪ Complying with the SPP – Technical Note for Government Development Assessment Compliance Officers
(Healthy Land and Water, 2018)
Shadforth aim to minimise the movement of soil from its source, and sediment release outside the construction
site. This project has the potential to cause soil erosion, sediment loss, and sediment deposition which may
impact the surrounding environment and waterways.
An ESC plan is developed by the Environmental Advisor, CPESC Consultant, or the client prior to construction
commencing. The plan details the necessary ESC methods required on this project. ESC methods applicable
to this project are outlined in Table 9.
Table 9 – ESC Control Methods
ESC Method Function
▪ Contain water on site until it can be treated and tested to ensure
Sediment Basins compliance with water quality parameters.
▪ Control discharge of contaminated water.
▪ Isolate existing clean water flows through site.
Clean Water Drain
▪ Prevent clean water from entering the site.
Dirty Water Drains ▪ Capture site water and direct to sediment basin.
Shaker Grid / Wheel Bath ▪ Minimise sediments leaving site on vehicles.
▪ Prevent erosion.
Sediment Fence
▪ Minimise sediment deposition in surrounding environment.
▪ Used in water bodies to minimise the movement and flow of
Sediment Curtain
sediments.
▪ Surface stabilisation
Geofabric
▪ Dust minimisation.
▪ Surface stabilisation
Hydro mulch / Mulch
▪ Dust Minimisation.
▪ Surface stabilisation
Soil Polymers
▪ Dust minimisation.
Rock Checks ▪ Reduce flow rate in drains and waterways to minimise scour.
Straw Bales / Coir logs ▪ Reduce flow rate in drains and waterways to minimise scour.
Rock ▪ Prevents scouring by protecting surfaces.
▪ Prevents erosion and sedimentation through surface permanent
stabilisation.
Landscaping & Vegetation
▪ Prevents dust.
▪ Provides aesthetically pleasing finish to construction works.
