                                                                                                 Native Foresters

There is a very small section (<0.03ha) of unmapped loamy, waterlogged soil near the adjacent
shed in the western parcel that appears to fit the description of Land zone 3 – quaternary alluvium,
with a degraded vegetation community that loosely resembles RE 12.3.5 (Melaleuca open forest
on coastal alluvium). Further soil tests would be needed to confirm this but given the small size
of the area, soil testing is not likely to be warranted.

Five introduced species listed as Restricted Invasive Plants (RIP) under the Biosecurity Act 2014
were recorded on Site A: Basket asparagus (Asparagus aethiopicus), Camphor laurel,
(Cinnamomum camphora), Groundsel (Bacharis halmifolia), Lantana (Lantana camara),
Singapore daisy (Sphagneticola trilobata).

Two orchid species listed as Special least concern were identified in Site A: Shepherd’s crook
orchid (Geodorum densiflorum) and Giant boat-lipped orchid (Cymbidium madidum). Refer to
Figure 2 and Appendix M. Special least concern plants are listed in Schedule 2 of the Nature
Conservation (Plants) Regulation 2020. This is a category of protected plants that includes those
species that are likely to be subject to increased harvesting pressure due to their commercial and
recreational demand, and the nature of their growth and reproduction (e.g. small or slow growing
species, species that produce limited seed).

4.2.2 Threatened species in the impact area

No threatened flora species were located in Site A.

4.2.3 Koala habitat trees

Site A lies within a Koala Priority Area but is not mapped as Core Koala habitat or locally-refined
Koala habitat. However, preferred Koala food trees are abundant on site and a fresh Koala scat
was found suggesting recent use of the site. Refer to Figure 2 and Appendix M. It is estimated
that approximately 240 non-juvenile Koala food trees will be impacted by proposed clearing.
