PLANNING ASSESSMENT
Proposed change application – DA 132007.12.6
Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre
▪ Access to GenesisCare’s proprietary treatment technologies and innovations, including
DCISionRT breast genomics test, ensuring optimal treatment pathway for breast cancer
patients, and Barrigel prostate treatment spacer, to minimise risk of dose to healthy tissue and
side effects associated with prostate cancer radiation therapy treatment.
8. CONCLUSION
The subject site has always been intended to provide support services for the Noosa Hospital. Given the
extent and nature of health care services already coexisting at the subject site, the addition of a
radiation oncology (and its associated bunker chamber) offering is considered a desirable outcome.
There are limited opportunities elsewhere, that are suitably zoned to cater for such an offering.
The following provides a summary of the grounds for approval of the minor change application:
▪ The proposed land use of Health Care Service is suitable in the Community Facilities Zone as
reflected by the Noosa Plan 2020.
▪ The proposed changes are minor in nature and have been assessed as substantially the same
development, as approved.
▪ The proposed changes allow for a unique health care offering that is in keeping with the
function of the Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre.
▪ The uptake of GenesisCare would be suitably catered for based on the current and expected
car parking demand.
For the reasons contained within this statement, it is requested that Noosa Council approve the request
for minor change to Development Permit 132007.12.6.
We trust that this information is suitable for your purposes, however, should you have any questions
pertaining to this minor change application please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned via email
