PROPOSED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
PRECINCTS E2 & F, NOOSA SPRINGS
Detailed descriptions of the subsurface conditions encountered in the boreholes are provided on the
Engineering Logs in Appendix A, along with definition sheets which describe terms and abbreviations used
on the report sheets.
SSE Boreholes (2000)
SSE boreholes BH7 to BH10 are located within the area defined as Area 1 above, and encountered 0.4 m
to 1.8 m of loose sand, becoming medium dense and dense with depth.
SSE boreholes BH1, BH2 and BH6 were located over the southern part of the flat area (Area 2), and
encountered uncontrolled fill to depths of 1.8 m to 5.0 m BGL overlying natural dense sand (including
indurated sand). SSE boreholes BH3 to BH5, located across the northern part of the flat area, encountered
0.6 m to 0.9 m of uncontrolled fill over natural loose sand, becoming medium dense and dense with depth.
Groundwater was encountered in SSE boreholes BH4 to BH6 at depths of 1.3 m, 2.6 m, and 1.4 m,
respectively. Those three boreholes are located at the toe of the steep sand embankment.
