3.2.2       Pavement Design Traffic
The Design Equivalent Standard Axle loadings (DESA) adopted for the pavement designs of the local
roads are summarised in Table 11. The detailed traffic calculations are included in Appendix B.

The widening works along the northbound lane of the existing Bruce Highway at the intersection with
Gardners Road will be used as a side track during construction and includes an allowance for three
months of Bruce Highway traffic, after which it has been designed to allow for future Gardners Road
traffic only.

The widening works along the southbound lane of the existing Bruce Highway at the intersection with
