Pomona Connection Road allows for four years of existing Bruce Highway traffic, after which the road will
become a service road and the traffic volumes are expected to reduce significantly.

There was no traffic information available for Holts Road, Uhlmanns Road, Christies Road and
Woodswallow Lane and the DESA adopted for these roads were based on the minimum values
recommended in the SCRC Planning Scheme (SCRC, 2005), including estimated construction traffic
where applicable.
Some of the local roads and temporary pavements are expected to carry construction vehicles and the
estimated construction traffic has been allowed for in the pavement designs where applicable. The
estimated additional ESA’s as a result of the construction traffic are:
      Contract 1:         80,000 ESA’s (assumes 10,000 truck-and-dogs @ 8 ESA/HV)
      Contract 2:         700,000 ESA’s ((assumes 87,500 truck-and-dogs @ 8 ESA/HV)
The following temporary pavements, to allow for construction, have been included in the Detailed Design
Phase:
      Uhlmanns Road Extension
      Bruce Highway Side Track
      Side track at the Cooroy – Noosa exit ramp (southbound)
The pavement design traffic input parameters for these roads are summarised in Table 12.
