REPORT
1. Holding Council meetings in community locations

The Mayor and Councillors recognise that community engagement is a vital part of effective
democracy and that community-based Council meetings provide an opportunity for local
communities to meet with the Mayor and Councillors and discuss local issues. Since 2014 Council
has generally held one or two Ordinary Meetings at various community locations throughout each
year. This will be the third community-based meeting proposed for this year (2025).

Meetings were held in:
•    Pomona and Peregian Beach - 2014;
•    Cooran and Noosaville - 2015;
•    Cooroy - 2016;
•    Boreen Point and Sunshine Beach - 2017;
