Attachment 2 - Noosa Biosecurity Plan 2026-2031
Implementation Actions
Managing invasive plants and animals is a priority activity in building catchment healthy and
resilient and productive landscapes across Noosa. Integrated management strategies are
implemented that combine various control methods such as early detection, biological control,
physical and mechanical removal, and targeted chemical treatment, as well as information
sharing and education.
A summary of implementation actions is provided in Table 8.2 outlining the management
actions that Council is progressing to meet its general biosecurity obligations in partnership
with state government, community, land managers and others. These are coordinated under
the following priority areas:
• Research and monitoring
• Planning
• Community capacity building
• On ground works.
