The staff manager resides on the site and therefore no additional staff trips are
required. Additional trips for small maintenance supplies will be undertaken as multi-
purpose trips and part of the trip generation for the existing residential dwelling.
Therefore the existing poultry operation will generate an average of 4 trips per
day including 3 truck movements.
Based on the information provided above, the impact of traffic generated from
the site is actually reduced from 76 trips per day to 12 trips per day (8 trips per
day during the peak avocado season and an average of 4 trips per day for the
poultry farm).
4.3 Trip Distribution and Assignment
Trip origin and destination for the proposed development has been assessed. All
routes to and from the site will travel east along Top Forestry Road, turning left into
Old Ceylon Road and then right into Cooroy-Belli Creek Road and returning to the
Bruce Highway.
The types of vehicles accessing the site will be a combination of light vehicles, semi-
trailers and 19m B-doubles. The arrival and departure of chickens will be undertaken
via semi-trailers and the delivery of grain will be via 19m B-doubles. It must be noted
that only 19m B-doubles are proposed and not 25m B-doubles. As per TMR’s
Guidelines for Multi-Combination Vehicles in Queensland (Clause 4.1.3), 19m B-
doubles can operate on all general access roads and an approved B-double route is
NOT required. It is envisaged that during peak periods there will be 3 semi / B-
double trips per day
