4.0 Design Consideration
4.1 Overview
A review of the traffic and transport related design elements for the development has been
undertaken against the following relevant documents:
Noosa Plan 2020 (planning scheme).
Australia Standard for Parking Facilities Part 1: Off-street car parking (AS2890.1).
Australian Standard for Parking Facilities Part 6: Off-street commercial vehicle facilities
(AS2890.2).
Australian Standard for Parking Facilities Part 6: Off-street parking for people with
disabilities (AS2890.6).
4.2 Access
Vehicular access to the proposed development will be facilitated by way of the two
roundabouts located immediately north and south of the “Main Street”. Five (5) entry points to
the main car park and servicing nodes, as discussed in Section 3.2 are proposed.
4.2.1 Queuing
Ample queue storage is provided between the north and south access points and the five (5)
entry points to the main car park and servicing nodes.
4.3 Car Parking and Circulation Layout
The proposed design of the internal car parking and vehicular circulation areas of Lot 3 and
Lot 7 have been assessed against the requirements of AS2890.1. The results of this
assessment are summarised in Table 5.
