Site Based Management Plan

1.0 Introduction
1.1 General
CSR Building Products Limited (CSR) proposes to operate a clay and shale quarry located at 300 Kennedys Road, Lake
MacDonald QLD 4563 on land described as Lot 3 on SP108094 and Lot 2 on SP108094 (the Site) in the Sunshine Coast
Regional Council area. The Site is located approximately 3km south of Cooroy (refer Figure 1 – Site Locality Plan and
Figure 2 – Site and Surrounds).

CSR is seeking approval from the Sunshine Coast Regional Council for a Development Application for a Material Change
of Use (MCU) for Extractive Industry and associated Environmentally Relevant Activities (ERAs). Access to the Site is via
the existing driveway off Lake MacDonald Drive from the existing brickworks factory land also owned by CSR and
described as Lot 2 on SP108094.

Lot 3 on SP108094 comprises a Mining Lease (Mining Lease Number ML 3742) and was previously utilised for the mining
of clay materials as raw feed for the production of clay bricks and pavers at the brickworks factory located on Lot 2 on
SP108094. Lot 2 on SP108094 was previously utilised for the production of clay bricks and pavers from the clay material
sourced from Lot 3 on SP108094 (under ML 3742 operations associated with the Site). The brickworks factory is currently
not operational. Lot 2 on SP108094 will be utilised solely for the purposes of gaining access to Lot 3 on SP108094 and
transporting extracted material off the Site. No extractive industry operations are proposed on Lot 2 on SP108094.

The proposed Site comprises a single working area/pit within the existing disturbed mine footprint (refer Figure 3 –
Conceptual Site Layout). The proposed area of disturbance has previously been cleared for mining purposes. The
majority of the surrounding area is presently used for rural purposes and agribusiness ventures.
