Protection of Lake Macdonald water supply
O24 S24.1 The proposed disturbance areas on-site are located
Development does not adversely impact on the Lake Macdonald water supply. Within the Lake Macdonald catchment area shown approximately 1 km to the west of Lake Macdonald. It is
on Natural Resources Overlay Map OM3.5, anticipated that the development will not impact on the Lake

O25 S25.1 The proposed disturbance areas on-site are located
The number and location of access points to watercourses is controlled and No solution provided approximately 1 km to the west of Lake Macdonald. It is
managed to prevent adverse impacts on water quality in Lake Macdonald; anticipated that the development will not impact on the Lake
Macdonald water supply.
AND
Managing water quality is the principal environmental issue for
CSR’s mining areas and is recognised as such in the Plan of
Operations.
The proposed disturbance areas avoid mapped watercourses
recognised by the DNRM under the Vegetation Management Act
1999 and Regrowth Vegetation Code as well as mapped major
waterbodies or watercourses/drainage lines under the Noosa
Shire Planning Scheme.
An Ecological Assessment Report (ATTACHMENT 6) has been
prepared for the Site, which recognises that potential impacts to
Six Mile Creek would result from inappropriately controlled
construction activities such as the release of pollutants and
sediment and uncontrolled clearance of vegetation. Six Mile
Creek will be protected by the following measures:
at least 100 m of separation from the area of disturbance to
the mapped watercourse and associated mapped remnant
vegetation;
a 20 m setback from the eastern most boundary of the
mining lease; and
