In addition, the Site Based Management Plan (ATTACHMENT 8) prepared for the Site, provides the framework for environmental management on the Site and is a practical guide at the operational level to contain environmental impacts. The SBMP has been prepared to assist in the management and protection of surrounding environment values and describes how the operator proposes to manage potential environmental impacts which may be caused by carrying out extractive and processing activities. The SBMP prepared for the Site includes a Stormwater, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan to ensure changes to the hydrological regime, contamination of stormwater, on-site soil erosion and release of contaminated water off-site is prevented, as far as practicable. q) Open space networks across the locality are protected and enhanced including – i. Mt Cooroy Conservation Park; ii. parts of Tewantin and Ringtail State Forests; iii. the riparian corridors of Six Mile and Ringtail Creeks and their tributaries; and iv. the vegetated ranges of the sub-coastal escarpments in the north, south and east of the locality; RESPONSE: The proposed extraction is positioned in a manner which avoids: remnant and high value regrowth vegetation, watercourses and ridgelines; a conservation estate (and its buffer) associated with Yurol State Forest, located on an adjoining property to Lot 3 and at least 800 m from the proposed extraction areas on-site; and December 2012 / file ref. 1271_DA1_310_001 GROUNDWORK p l u s
