2.5 Vegetation
During our walk-over assessment, the area immediately surrounding the existing cabins comprised
maintained grass, garden beds and scattered bushes. Dense vegetation occupied most of the northern
part of the site and around the drainage lines. Tilting, leaning and distortion of tree trunks was observed
in mature trees below the cabins, and within the surrounding drainage lines, which can be a sign of
previous slope instability.
2.6 Buildings and Other Structures
As mentioned previously, the cabins comprised trailer mounted tiny homes, with timber decking
extending off the eastern edges. Based on an external visual assessment, both cabins appeared to be in
good structural condition, with no obvious signs of distress (e.g. misalignment, etc.) which would indicate
global slope instability. Arc shaped cracking (<10 mm wide) and shallow surface depressions (<50 mm
deep) were observed within the asphalt seal at numerous places along the existing driveway. These
areas generally coincided with inferred fill zones which crossed natural drainage lines/paths away from
the existing cabins. The existing residence and shed were not assessed.
