9. Appendix F - Economic Impact Assessment
Noosa Homemaker Centre Precinct (Noosaville)
i. A secondary provision of tenants is located within the Business Centre-zoned land around Noosa
Homemaker Centre (Noosaville) in the primary sector. The centre and surrounds have a more retail
focus, with limited non-retail showroom/display suite tenants. This is likely attributable to the internalised
nature of the site.
ii. Traditional retail-type tenants located at Noosa Homemaker Centre include; Rip Curl, a gym,
launderette, hairdresser, beauty spa and optometrist.
iii. Tables 3.2 and 3.3 provide a gap analysis of the major national large format retail and showroom tenants
provided throughout the Noosa total trade area and Queensland. As shown, a range of prominent large
format retail/showroom operators are not represented within the total trade area, including but not
limited to the following:
‒ Automotive: Auto One;
‒ Bedding: Bedshed, Sleepys, Snooze and The Sleeping Giant;
‒ Electrical: Jaycar Electronics, JB Hi-Fi, Leading Appliances, RT Edwards, The Good Guys;
‒ Furniture: Aussie Living, Bay Leather Republic, Dare Gallery, Domayne, Early Settler
Furniture, Fantastic Furniture, Freedom, IKEA, King Living, Nick Scali, Oz Design, Plush,
Samsara, Super A-Mart, The Outdoor Furniture Specialists, Vast Interior;
‒ Home: Kitchen Connection, Kitchen Trends, Miele, Sink and Bathroom Shop, Total Eden
‒ Home Deco: Beaumont Tiles, Carpet Court, Carpet One, Curtain Wonderland, DecoRug,
Howards Storage World, Rugs a Million, Spotlight;
‒ Vehicles: Volkswagen and a host of other vehicle brands, as well as Suzuki Marine¸ Avanti,
Reid Cycles¸99 Bikes, Isuzu;
‒ Miscellaneous: Amart Sports, Anaconda, Clark Rubber, Kathmandu, Robins Kitchen.
iv. The majority of large chain brands that operate within the region are provided at both Noosa and
Gympie, however, given the size of the defined total trade area and distance to competing large format
facilities, several tenants that are provided within the tertiary sector could also be interested in locating
at the Noosa site. Indicatively, these tenants may include Beds R Us, Betta Home Living, Carpet Court,
Barbeques Galore, Robins Kitchen and Lincraft.
v. Beyond the trade area, the nearest closest facilities are provided at Maroochydore and Kawana, a 70
km round trip for most residents of the trade area.
