It is important to note Council currently issues marriage ceremony permits enabling couples to
undertake their ceremonies on public reserves. The permits are issued to individuals, not
commercial businesses, and allow them to set up seating, decorations, arbours, and the like for a
period of up to 2 hours. The permits do not consent to alcohol consumption and are not used as
a basis for a liquor licence application.
Of the 43 functions detailed by the applicant, 17 couples have been issued ceremony permits in
the adjacent park by Council, with the balance of wedding ceremonies occurring elsewhere (e.g.
Noosa Main Beach or churches).
Complaint History
In regard to complaints about functions held at the restaurant, the applicant submits:
Noosa Waterfront has received from OLGR in September 2015 a single complaint [regarding]
