Section 8.8
8.8 Recovery Subgroups
Often a disaster will be of such a scale that all functions need to be addressed to effect recovery. To assist with
managing capacity and resourcing issues and to reflect other areas of infrastructure that Noosa Council is
responsible for i.e., water, wastewater, and waste, the Local Disaster Recovery Group (LDRG) will likely
organise itself with four Functional Recovery Subgroups to address the five lines of recovery as follows:

   • Human and Social
   • Economic
   • Infrastructure
   • Environment; and
   • Waste
This structure is depicted in section 2.8 of this plan.
The need to establish one or all of the Subgroups is the responsibility of the LDRG and will depend wholly
upon the scale of the event and the complexity of the recovery effort.
