             Attachment 3 - Noosa Main Beach Events Policy - Tourism Noosa Feedback

             Tourism Noosa Feedback - ‘We have reviewed and provided some suggestions as
             highlighted below for your consideration. Our recommendation would be that this is
             positioned as Guidelines versus an actual Policy. This also reflects our Tourism Event
             Guidelines and provides some opportunities for revisiting if required’.
             Further Tourism Noosa feedback noted below in bold — Please refer to relevant
             sections of Policy.

             GUIDING PRINCIPLES
             =  Dot point 1 - The community’s day-to-day use of the land and water will generally take
                precedence over events except for significant tourism events.
             =  Dot point 3 - Events that are locally owned and operated or with operations based in the
                Shire will be provided an additional and reasonable weighting in the selection
                process of events.
             =  Dot point 5 - Council will not support events that do not add value to the Noosa brand as
                per Tourism Noosa’s Event Guidelines.
             =  Dot point 6 - Tourism Noosa will be involved with Noosa Council in making
                recommendations in the permit assessment process based on Tourism Noosa’s
                Event Guidelines, however, the final determination regarding permit approval rests
                with Council.

             NUMBER OF EVENTS
             e  Dot point 1 - There will be a maximum of one cultural event being the Noosa Festival of
                Surfing and one food festival being the Noosa Food & Wine Festival approved each
                year generally in front of surf club.
             e  Dot point 2 & 3 - Proposed capping of the number of events held on Noosa Main
                Beach including community events.
             e  Dot point 4 - Event applications cultural festival/food festival west of the 1°‘ rockwall
                will be considered on a case by case basis.
