An extensive network of interconnected active and passive open space recreation and
conservation areas are proposed, with the development to provide a range of local active and
passive recreation parks, fenced off-leash dog areas, lakefront parks, linear parks, integrated
stormwater treatment areas, drainage reserves, buffer areas and nature refuges. An existing
lakeside house is also proposed to be redeveloped into a residents’ community facility.

The development has obtained Earthcheck certification from the Centre for Sustainable Design at
the University of Queensland against its Global Precinct Planning and Design Standard. The
certification is linked to commitments from the developer to address environmental, social and
economic goals that meet Earthcheck’s criteria for environmentally sustainable design. The
proponent submits that the development will include a raft of sustainability measures, including:

 Energy efficiency through passive design
 Water conservation and re-use
 Energy efficient systems and fixtures
 Use of sustainable building materials
