PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA                                                  1 MARCH 2016


In November 2015, 1 planner commenced long service leave for 3 months, with a second
planner also taking extended leave from February 2016 to November 2016. A development
planner’s position for 12 months was advertised to maintain service levels during this time and
was filled in November 2015. There have also been changes in administration staff due one
administration officer retiring. Changes in staff impact on the team’s ability to maintain the same
service levels due to the specialised nature of the work and time required to train staff.

There are also number of staff in the team, including 2 engineering officers and a further
administration officer who may be considering retirement in the near future and succession
planning will be an important consideration going forward.
