Attached to the e-mail MCU23/0038 - SARA Information Request.
Attached to the e-mail MCU23/0038 - SARA additional advice relating to information request.
2306-35006 SRA
- feeding regimes to reduce nutrient loading
- nutrient dispersal or disposal
- controlled administration of chemicals
- wastewater treatment
- nutrient stripping of effluent prior to discharge
- control and containment systems to manage equipment failure.
d) Provide a disease management plan. The plan should include details of disease
prevention and management practices that are to be adopted to avoid or minimise
impacts on the aquaculture development and fisheries resources in addition to the
following:
- how it is intended to monitor for disease
- the proposed quarantine practices for new stock introduced to the facility
- stock monitoring methods or procedures
- the control measures to be implemented both on a day-to-day basis and in
the event of a natural disaster.
e) Provide flood overlay mapping for the site that clearly depicts a 1% AEP flood
event. If the site is located below the 1% AEP flood level, provide plans that show
the following are above the 1% AEP flood level:
- the lowest height of the top wall of the bio-reactors
- any other ponds, tanks, containers or aquaria used to cultivate algae.
f) Provide details about the collection of raw seawater including:
- the method of collection
- the location of collection
- volume of water to be collected
- screen mesh size.
It is unclear if the collection of seawater will result in adverse impacts on native
fauna through the unintentional trapping of fish during seawater collection by
entanglement in pump screens or by excessive collection of sea water impacting
ecological functions.
