RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Manager Revenue Services to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 7 March 2017 providing an overview of the January 2017 Rate Levy.

REPORT
This report provides Council with a summary of the January 2017 rate levy.

1.                       Levy Summary

Rate notices for the second rate levy for 2016/17 were issued on the 17 January 2017, with a
due date of the 17 February 2017. The gross amount of the levy was $35.7 million, which
comprised of $32.7 million of Council rates and charges, and $3 million for the Queensland
Government State Emergency Management Levy. Between July 2016 and January 2017 the net
increase in rateable properties was 52, giving minimal growth of 0.2%.
