RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Local Disaster Coordinator to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 10 April 2018 and adopt the Noosa Local Recovery Subplan 2018
(provided at Attachment 1 to the report).


REPORT
At its Ordinary Meeting of 19 October 2017, Council adopted the Noosa Local Disaster
Management Plan 2018 (the Plan) and devolved responsibility for updating and approving the
operational appendices of the Plan to the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG).

Although the Noosa Recovery Subplan is technically an appendix to the Plan, it is a substantial
document and details all aspects of responsibility for recovery from a disaster event. Therefore,
it is prudent that once a formal review of the Recovery Subplan has been undertaken by the
LDMG it comes before Council for adoption.

The development of the Noosa Recovery Subplan 2018 was project managed by the Disaster
Management and Special Projects Officer and has been reviewed by the Local Disaster
Coordinator, and members of the LDMG. The Subplan is attached to this report as Attachment
1.

Material changes to the Recovery Subplan are as follows:
 Aligned to and consistent with Queensland Recovery Plan 2017
 Updating of terminology, references and state agency names / responsibilities
 Review of operational processes and templates
 Review of membership of the Noosa Local Recovery Group
