SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 10 APRIL 2018
As Council will appreciate, during the first few years of Council’s operation, the Committee’s role
focussed on providing oversight around Council’s establishment. Now that the external members
have a comprehensive understanding of Council’s operations, they are in a position to provide
further strategic oversight and focus on improvement opportunities, which will provide exceptional
value to the organisation. The Committee has also developed a forward working plan for the next
12 months to undertake a detail review of a number of key areas for Council.
Previous Council Consideration

Committee dated 12 July 2016 and re-appoint the current external members of the Audit and
Risk Committee, Scott Williams and Cameron Jaggers for a further team of two years from

Finance
The external Committee members receive a payment of $300 per meeting to cover any
associated travel and other related expenses. Other than the expense reimbursement, the
positions are unpaid and confirm the external members’ commitment to serving the Noosa
community.
Risks & Opportunities
Having appropriately qualified, competent and practically minded external members appointed to
the Committee is essential to ensure that the Committee adequately discharges its oversight role
as outlined in the Charter.
The right balance is needed in terms of rotating Committee members at appropriate intervals to
obtain the benefit of new perspectives whilst ensuring members are able to serve on the
Committee long enough to build momentum, stability and foster long term improvement.
