SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 FEBRUARY 2017

3. STAFFING

Aside from usual staff comings and goings there are no other staffing matters of significance to
report.

4. SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND OTHER MATTERS
 The introduction of an EFTPOS machine for client use is progressing smoothly with more
clients now using it on a regular basis. This is minimising the amount of cash handling for staff.
 NCS now has its our own website (www.noosacommunitysupport.com.au). This has allowed
clients to view and request services online as well as accessing the monthly activity program.
 Noosa Show Day at the Centre was a great day and brought the show to those who couldn’t
   get to the show.
 The new NCS client workshop has commenced operations and is aimed at offering a new
activity to clients who struggle to connect with more traditional centre-based activities. This has
been extremley successful with a selection of wooden toys being crafted and donated to the
Salvation Army Christmas appeal. An ‘offical opening’ is being considered for some point in
   March.

5. FUTURE DIRECTION
 An external consultant will be engaged in 2017 to review proposed changes to the
Commonwealth and State’s funding models and their likely impact on NCS operations.
 Commence planning and obtain costings for the next stage of the Centre upgrade. Source
indicative costs for works to include
     - rendering of the centre façade,
   - repainting of the original timberwork and
   - replacing the current lighting with an LED solution.
These works will complete the update of the Centre.
 Continue to reduce paper systems (NCS is not quite paperless… yet) by ensuring staff are
confident and trained in the use of data storage systems.
 Replacement of two buses.
