Service Review 2014-15
The J
serve set up to reduce employee costs (recently introduced) for regular users who can be trained for
general operations and meet WH&S requirements at The J. The profit and loss analysis discussed in
section 10.2.2, will assist in informing any changes to relevant charges.
In addition, a recent meeting with representatives of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and
Exhibitions (MICE) Noosa has identified synergies in operations and possible future partnerships
including the opportunity to increase commercial activity with minimal impact on current activity at The
J. The majority of MICE activities are expected to occur outside of current performance/hire periods
(e.g. Monday to Thursday), which is also better suited to both accommodation providers and
hospitality services.
The J is also well suited to meet a current gap in the market and accommodate larger corporate
conferences, exhibitions, workshops and gala dinners. Access and car parking have also been
identified as considerable attributes for The J in being part of a developing MICE market in Noosa.
One area that is lacking however is room for trade exhibits/trade shows associated with conferences.
The lower level car parks could be an option if temporary infrastructure is utilised (pending further
investigation).
OPPORTUNITY – Development of a strategic partnership or alliance with MICE to attract
conference events to The J.
