PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 14 OCTOBER 2014
As such, if (or when) a detailed financial assessment can be undertaken, it is likely that there will
be no financial advantage to Noosa Council and indeed, there would likely be a slight financial
disadvantage. However, in the context of the area that might transfer to the Noosa Council, it is
noted that EDV would only constitute approximately 9.8% of the Noosa Council rateable
properties. The EDV area has 2,749 rateable properties compared to approximately 28,000
rateable properties in the current Noosa area.
This does not mean that there would be a 9.8% financial impact. It means that any formal impact
would likely to be negligible in the context of Noosa Council’s $90M budget and strong financial
position.
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
Although our Council has received a submission from the EDV group who have undertaken a
range of consultation within the EDV community, our Council has not done any consultation on
this issue. Naturally, it would not be appropriate to do so in the EDV area as that is a matter for
that community.
Internal Consultation
The Executive Manager and Strategic Planning have assisted in sourcing information about the
community of interest between EDV and Noosa.
