Subject: Submission by Mrs T.M Ladewig & Mr R C Ladewig of Lot 4 M371125, 475
Kennedys Rd Pomona 4568. We wish to lodge a submission in regards to the material
change of use no MCU12/0041.
We have owned our land adjoining the proposed development since 1981. We brought this
land to grow Ginger and Strawberry runners, Strawberries and Sugar Cane. Our future plans
for our land is to grow ginger, strawberries and small Crops. We have rested this land for the
future pfantings of the small crops mentioned above.
We have a number of concerns with the proposed material change of use of the adjoining
property.
These concerns are as follows-
The water reuse plans are not clear enough in the proposal. We would require more
detailed engineering designed drawings as well as the hydraulics study to protect our water
ways and storage dam.We must have good quality water to use on our crops.
We have no proposals how the applicant will dispose of the water from the tanks/ponds.
We do not want overland waste water flows on to our property. We have investigated the
Animal Husbandry Type 2 Aquaculture and sometimes diseases and treatment is very toxic
and the waste from the ponds /tanks would not be ideal run off into our water ways, both
ourselves and others.
We have grave concerns that the management plans for the removal of the water from the
sediment ponds is deficient in detail. We need to know how this management plan will
work, and how the disposal of the waste/sediment from these ponds will be carried out.
There has been no mention of backup power supply in case of the main power lost. For
filters, pumps etc.
We are also concerned of the introduction of aquatic plants entering into our water ways
that do not exist at this stage.,

We have grave concern about no planning of a new dam wall on the applicants land. The
dam wall is on our land. We would require that the applicant builds a dam wall on his
property and with an overflow filter system to our dam and No loss off water flowing to our
dam.
We are very concerned and will not accept the set back from our boundary is not enough
distance we will require at least 100 mts set back. The reason for this is we will have to
spray our crops for disease control and fertilise application through irrigation. We cannot
stress this point strong enough. If the ponds are too close to our boundary this will restrict
our farming operations.
We will require a management plan for the management of the water quality on a six
monthly period.
This application is not a small scale development of Aquaculture. Our Investigation indicates
this is a large scale development that could impact our future farming on our land. The Rural
Futures study indicates that all available good agriculture land should be protected. We
submit we have grown very successfully ginger, strawberries and Sugar cane on land that
has this application for aquaculture. The land we own we have grown crops as mentioned
above.
Please find inclosed photos of extreme wet weather conditions on applicant property lot 7
on MCH793.
Kind Regards,
~q
Mrs T.M Ladewig & Mr R C Ladewig
