4       SUBJECT SITE & SURROUNDS
4.1 Site Details
The telecommunications facility is proposed to be located at Schreibers Road, Cooran. The site is
formally described as Lot 12 on RP883248 and has an approximate area of 54.83 ha. The
topography of the site is steep and undulating, ranging from 245 m AHD in the south-western
corner, to 112 m AHD in the north-western corner of the site. The relative height of the site at the
point where the facility is proposed is approximately 200 m AHD. The Local Government Authority
for the proposal is Noosa Council and the site is currently zoned as Rural under The Noosa Plan
2009. Figure 4.1 illustrates the proposed subject site and location of the facility (indicated in
yellow).

The subject site is currently used for agricultural purposes and contains a residential dwelling.
Traversing the site from the south-east to the north-west of the property is an existing electricity
easement designated and used for high voltage power stanchions. The subject site is bordered by
rural residential allotments, except along the northern boundary where Schreibers Road reserve is
located. Figure 4.2 illustrates the site location and characteristics.
