INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 17 JUNE 2014
3. Review the Sunshine Coast Local Area Pest Management Plan and include policy on
specific issues
This option involves incorporating policy on issues currently facing Council such as 1080
for wild dog control and application of metsulfuron and effects on non-target species.
Biosecurity Queensland advise that the PMP needs to be kept broad and specific policies
should be developed separately. Policy development on specific issues can be an action in
the PMP.
4. Start developing a new Biosecurity Plan
The Biosecurity Queensland Regulations, which will document the requirements of
Biosecurity Plans, will not be completed until late 2015. Biosecurity Queensland advise that
the development of a new Local Government Biosecurity Plan is not an option at this stage.
