INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 17 JUNE 2014

There are sufficient funds within the current budget to meet this request. Any income not used
this financial year must be carried over in the budget and used in accordance with section 53 in
following years.

Research has identified that de-sexed animals generally live longer, happier lives and their
temperament and overall health is greatly improved. Behavioural problems such as roaming,
displays of aggression in males and heat cycles in females are eliminated.

An increase in the percentage of de-sexed animals in the shire also potentially reduces animal
management complaints and provides an ongoing benefit to all residents through reduced animal
attacks and more responsible pet owners.

This request provides a great opportunity for Noosa Council to partner with the RSPCA to deliver
a positive message to the Noosa community.
