The half year summary performance sees the The J net operating position $42,655 better than
year to date projections.
Revenue is behind budget projections, mainly in the area of venue hire ($21,169), a trend which
has continued from Quarter 1. The venue hire budget was recognised as being challenging
when it was developed, however, December also saw a reduction in revenue as a result of
groups moving from the BCC to The J, and the requirement for Hillsong Church’s major
Christmas booking to be held at the Noosa Leisure Centre.
Expenditure is down in three main areas; maintenance ($29,990), electricity ($10,097) and
water/sewerage charges ($6,328). Contractor commitments prior to Christmas delayed some
maintenance which is now scheduled for early 2015. Electricity and water and sewerage
charges also appear to have been overestimated during the budget development and a BR3
adjustment has been submitted to reflect this and the decrease in revenue.
