EXECUTVIE SUMMARY

Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Director Planning & Infrastructure to the Infrastructure &
Services Committee Meeting dated 23 June 2015 providing an update on the progress of the
Electric Bus Trial.

REPORT
The purpose of this report is to provide an update on progress of the electric bus trial

1. Memorandum of Understanding

The Electric Bus Trial Memorandum of Understanding with TransLink was signed on May 7,
2015. In response, Council and TransLink’s media teams released a joint media release on June
10, 2015.

2. Bus Manufacturer

A draft lease agreement between Patico Automotive and Council is in the final stages of being
developed. This is a critical document as any delays in signing could delay the delivery of the
electric buses in time for the live trial commencement.

3. Livery

TransLink and Council have developed a livery design shown on Attachment 1: Electric Bus
Livery.

4. Charging Infrastructure

Two quick charge units will be constructed in Diyan Street, Tewantin adjacent to the Liquorland
Bottleshop, with no loss of parking (Attachment 2). Quotes for this work closed on 5 June 2015.
A contractor to undertake this work will be appointed shortly.
