EMP DESIGN AND PRE-CONSTRUCTION 3-2

Strategy: To ensure no net reduction of rainwater infiltrating the sand dunes beneath the
site. To ensure adequate treatment of runoff from landscaped and hardstand
                           areas prior to infiltration.

        9. Plant species utilised in landscaping to be predominantly native species indigenous to the site
with low nutrient/fertiliser requirements in accordance with approved Landscape Master Plan.
        10. Runoff from internal driveways and pavements to be directed to propriety oil and sediment traps
(SQID’s) prior to discharge to rapid infiltration pits.
        11. Runoff from roofed areas to be directed to rainwater storage tanks for the purpose of landscape
            irrigation.
        12. Irrigation systems to be drip-systems to maximize water conservation and minimize runoff into
            environmentally sensitive areas.
        13. Overflows from rainwater tanks shall be directed to rapid infiltration pits without further
            treatment.
        14. Rapid infiltration pits shall be fitted with geofabric filters to prevent localised “clogging” of the
subgrade with leaf litter and humus.

Performance Requirement: Ensure water quality management actions in accordance with this EMP
and the approved Landscape Master Plan are incorporated within all future operational works
applications for development of the site.

Monitoring: The Landscape Architect and Design Engineer/Superintendent will check all future
applications for compliance prior to lodgement with Council for approval.

Reporting: To be incorporated within operational works applications to Council.

Corrective Action: Amend designs to ensure compliance.

3.2 Element D.2: Design Factors For Ecological
        Management Within RHD Area
Policy: To protect ecosystems and environmental values within the development area of the
RHD area through the development of appropriate building/ landscape designs.

Strategy: To ensure building and landscape designs incorporate appropriate measures
consistent with the intent of site environmental protection.

Responsibility: Design Engineer, Landscape Architect, Wildlife Ecologist and Architect.

Management Actions: All design within the Residential High Density areas to comply with the
        following guidelines:
       1. The Landscape Master Plan provides overall protocols for design.
       2. Buildings, internal roads and fences shall be sited and constructed to allow movement of fauna
