SETTLERS COVE NOOSA
Landscape Master Plan

Systems will be flexible in their application and programming to provide water primarily
during establishment and extended dry periods.

The design shall, however, require more intensive watering systems for some areas of
the High Density Residential lots especially feature tropical microclimates and
associated plantings.

Increasing the moisture holding capacity of the soil can assist in preserving water.
Water crystals or other approved moisture holding products should be utilised where
possible following manufactures recommendations. Sandy soils found on site can also
be improved by mixing peat through the soil structure and watering well prior to planting.
Products that may change the soils pH or leach out unwanted substances will be
avoided. To promote deep root growth water saving products require application well
below soil surface horizon.

Irrigation layouts and watering procedures are to be provided with landscape operational
works plans.

13. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL

Erosion and sediment control throughout the site will be adherent to approved erosion

‘ and sediment control measures outlined in the relevant section of the Environmental
. Management Plans.

To reduce the potential of soil erosion the following measures shall be adopted during
landscape operational works:

e Disturbance of soils must be kept to minimum

e All excavations resulting in cuts or steep batters will be retained as soon as
possible.

e Exposed soils shall be muiched as soon as possible following
disturbance.Exposed soils that are not to be covered with mulch are to be
seeded with native grasses as soon as possible following soil disturbance, refer
to recommended seed mix below,
