Caring for your Bushland Emiremment Settlers Cove Noosa Single Lot Residential APPENDIX 3. FINAL DRAFT é ange 4 LAND GRAPHICS As residents of the Settlers Cove Community, you are fortunate to have beautiful Bushland reserves on your doorstep. The Settlers Cove Masterplan outlines a network of greenspace links designed to provide connectivity between natural areas. These links serve as movement corridors for mobile fauna and are themselves a valuable resource for the appreciation of the natural environment. Within the broader Noosa Region, Settlers Cove is part of corridor and forage habitat for the Koala and the Glossy Black Cockatoo. In addition to retained corridors of vegetation throughout Settlers cove, the R.F. Thompson Environmental Park represents a significant core area of lowland habitat and is home to many species of Flora and Fauna, including some rare and important frogs. The way in which we live and maintain our gardens has a dramatic impact on the overall health of the bush. If your property includes bushland elements then these notes have particular relevance to the way in which you conduct the management of your land. If your property adjoins bush then these guides will help you to be a ‘good neighbour’ to your bushland environment. Create « Found Friendly Exinenment Your garden provides food and shelter for a diverse range of fauna. Plants should be carefully selected to compliment the native flora and eventually increase the food and shelter available. Opportunities exist in the long term to supplement existing food sources for the Koala and the Glossy Black Cockatoo Importantly any pool approved on your land will be fitted with Koala / Fauna escape devices such as a jog or rope at waters edge. Responsible Pet Care Caring for your Cat or Dog means knowing when to keep them under control and how to provide the right shelter. The Settlers Cove Covenants provide strict guidelines for keeping pets and if necessary these will be enforced by Noosa Council. The following points should be considered: 1. Domestic animals must be kept within the property and away from any retained vegetation at all times. 2. Dogs must be on a leash or within an approved enclosure. Cats must be kept indoors or within specially constructed cat runs approved by Noosa Council and deemed to be satisfactory by the RSPCA. 3. Remember to microchip and register your pets with Noosa Council. 4. De-sexing your pet may assist in keeping them under control and within their designated areas
