1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of the geotechnical investigation carried out by Soil Surveys
Engineering Pty Limited for the Proposed Service Station Reconstruction at 52-54 Mary Street
and Weyba Road, Noosaville.
The objectives of this investigation were to assess subsurface conditions at the site in
accordance with the Scope of Services detailed in Section 2.0.
This study was commissioned by Djorde Belosevic on the 20th February, 2020 on behalf of
Wessel Petroleum Pty Ltd.
2.0 SCOPE OF GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES

directed towards evaluating the following items, as detailed in our proposal, 1-22276, 2020-01-
08, PR VER 1 dated 9th January, 2020:-
Investigation of the subsurface profile at the proposed structure locations and the
pavement areas by drilling, sampling and insitu testing with six boreholes (BH’s 1 to 6
inclusive), with Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP’s) testing. These boreholes were
sampled by and for the project’s environmental consult Prensa Pty Ltd.
An additional three boreholes (BH’s 3, 8 and 9) were drilled for environmental sampling
as directed by Prensa Pty Ltd.
Laboratory testing on selected samples to assess the geotechnical properties of the
subsurface materials.
Geotechnical engineering analysis of the site investigation and laboratory test results to
evaluate:-
o Earthworks recommendations
- trafficability
- excavatability
- stripping depths
- material usage
- compaction standards
- fill/cut batter slope stability
o Assessment of and recommendations of Acid Sulfate soils (ASS/PASS).
This assessment is presented in Appendix E of this report.
o Foundation recommendations
- recommended foundation type
- design strength parameters
- site classification
- predicted ground movement
o Temporary retention system options
