e. The fence must be constructed in accordance with an Operational Works approval for
Landscaping.
Other matters:
At the General Committee meeting councillors also requested further details/clarification on the
following matters:
Dimensions of the proposed outdoor space at the rear of the units
Requirements for collection and separation of green waste
Consideration in the community management statement for maintenance of the area zoned
Environmental Management and Conservation
Availability of on street carparking in Hofmann Drive
The area of the proposed outdoor space to the rear of the units is approximately 2,400m2. This does
not include the 1,200m2 area within the Environmental Management and Conservation Zone.
The applicant has advised that it is likely that a contractor will be used to maintain the landscaped
areas and that green waste would be disposed of at a local transfer station. An overall outcome of
the Waste Management Code seeks that the storage, disposal and management of solid, liquid and
vegetative waste is conducted in a safe and ecologically sustainable manner without environmental
nuisance. It is therefore recommended that a condition be included to reflect this intent. It is
recommended that the condition read as follows:
Additional Condition to be Included – Condition 67
67. Storage, disposal and management of solid, liquid and vegetative waste is conducted in a safe
and ecologically sustainable manner without environmental nuisance. In this regard, vegetated
waste must be disposed of via a green waste bin or at a local transfer station.
To ensure the ongoing preservation of the Environmental Management and Conservation Zone it is
recommended that condition 22 be amended to include a requirement to maintain the Environmental
Management and Conservation Zone land.
The width of Hofmann Drive, at approximately 5.0 metres, is not suitable for the provision of on-
street carparking.
