PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 JULY 2016

Since the PIP base date of 2006, the Noosa Plan planning scheme has only incurred minor
amendments in relation to changes in zoning for urban development purposes. Consequently,
staff consider the PIA contained in the current PIP only requires minor amendments for the new
LGIP to accommodate the next 10 to 15 years of urban growth as follows:
 No changes are proposed for the town of Pomona and villages of Boreen Point, Cooran,
     Cooroibah and Kin Kin and to maintain the alignment of the PIA with the town/village
     boundaries currently contained the planning scheme;
 Expand the PIA for the town of Cooroy by including the State owned industrial zoned land
     at Taylor Court (formerly 34 Holts Road) completed in August 2008 under Council’s
     Negotiated Decision Notice 2005/2159 of 30 November 2006;
 Expand the PIA in Noosa Heads to include the Council owned Noosa Coastal Transit
     Centre and car park site on Lot 1 SP 215952 in Noosa Junction since included in the
     business centre zone;
 Curtailing the PIA boundaries in the coastal areas of Eastern Beaches, Noosa Heads,
     Noosaville and Tewantin by removing the adjoining conservation zoned land not meant for
     urban development.
 Amend the layout of the PIA maps to match the other locality maps contained in the
     planning scheme for consistency in presentation.
The revised PIA maps proposed for the new LGIP for the current Noosa Plan planning scheme is
provided in Attachment 1 of this report for Council’s review and endorsement. This PIA will need
to be again reviewed in conjunction with the development of the new planning scheme.
